people not accepting your work, but I try not to
worry about things that are out of my control. “
He enjoys what he’s doing now and doesn’t worry about having too many goals for the future. He
explained why having a to-do list isn’t always the
way to go. “I think it removes me from enjoying
and experiencing what is happening now in front
of me. Of course there are things as an artist I hope
to achieve and projects I hope come true. I have a
long-standing project of large-scale sky paintings
that I hope to finish someday. The problem with the
project is that it doesn’t really have a beginning or
an end…just an abstract idea of painting a bunch of
big skies. As far as places on my list, I’d like to visit
the Hermitage Museum in Russia. “
Where can we see and find out
more about your work?
I have work at the Dana Gallery in
Missoula, MT; at Vanessa Rothe Studio in Laguna Beach, CA and at the
Outskirts Gallery in Hope, Idaho. I
also share a lot of my work on Social
Media sites like Instagram (Aaroncordell) and Facebook (Aaron Cordell Johnson / FineArt) as well as on
my website www.cordellart.com.
I often like to ask artists if there is anything unusual about themselves they feel comfortable sharing
with our readers and I want to leave you with a
quote from Aaron Cordell Johnson that particularly
resonated with me.
“I suppose that being an artist is unusual in and of
itself. It’s not something rational people do, but I
think it’s the only thing I could do and stay sane. “
