Hunger Action Month!
Dear Friend,
This month, thousands of boys
and girls across North Texas are
getting back into the swing of
classes. To succeed at school,
they’ll need regular nourishment
to focus and study.
For many children in our
community, a new school year
means the return of free and
reduced-price meals in the
cafeteria. This resource is such
an important lifeline for kids
whose parents are struggling
financially. In addition to this
program, your support of the
Food Bank’s Kids Cafe, Food 4
Kids and other feeding initiatives
helps ensure hungry students
and their families have the help
they need.
With the fall season
approaching, another exciting
time of year is almost here —
Hunger Action Month! Each
September, friends like you
join together to raise awareness
about hunger in our community
through special events, food
drives and other activities.
You might know that I’ve been
working through some of my
own health challenges lately.
As I focus on returning to
full strength, it’s never been
clearer to me how critical good
nutrition truly is for every one
of us. With this in mind, I’d
like to invite you to join us in
recognizing Hunger Action
Month and encouraging your
family, friends, neighbors and
coworkers to do the same. Be
sure to wear orange on Hunger
Action Day — Thursday,
September 8! We’ll regularly
update our website, so please
check ntfb.org/HAM to discover
more ways you can get involved.
