Dear Friend,
As we reflect on the amazing life and legacy of our beloved leader and friend, Jan Pruitt, I’ ve been deeply moved by your generosity in the face of this great loss to our community. Because of you, thousands of neighbors have relief in the form of nutritious meals. I can’ t think of a better way to honor Jan’ s memory. Thank you.
Jan believed the North Texas Food Bank existed to serve a very important purpose— to provide caring individuals like you the opportunity to serve those whose lives have been impacted by hunger. While two pages is not nearly enough to highlight the work you’ ve made possible for this purpose, I invite you to take a look at pages 6 and 7 and honor Jan and her legacy with the North Texas Food Bank.
During these final weeks of winter, I’ ve also been thinking about the needs of local seniors. Homebound and unseen by many, they are living on fixed incomes and having a hard time covering their expenses. These individuals would still be at risk of going hungry today were it not for friends like you.

Between Nourishing Neighbors, a special food distribution program made possible through your support, and traditional community pantries and feeding programs, older North Texas neighbors are able to access nourishing meals thanks to you.
In addition, we’ re excited to share on page 7, exciting news about the expansion of our hunger-relief efforts through an innovative capital campaign that will end with the construction of a brand-new facility in Plano— a vision that began with Jan’ s deep desire to end hunger in North Texas.
In my short time as Interim President and CEO, I’ ve come to learn more about the passion with which people like you serve our community. I can assure you that your gifts are not only appreciated but also truly transforming the lives of families and individuals across North Texas. Thank you.
