Dear Friend,
Thanksgiving will soon arrive,
with other holidays not far
behind. For so many this is
such a wonderful time of year
— one that’s often filled with
family, friends and good food.
Perhaps most importantly, it’s
an opportunity to express our
gratitude for all that we have.
Sadly, not everyone in our
community enjoys this bounty
equally. Too many of our
neighbors struggle daily to
put food on the table. As our
population continues to grow, so
will this heartbreaking reality.
There’s a simple solution,
and you play an enormous
role in putting it in action by
supporting the North Texas
Food Bank.
There are a variety of hungerfighting programs that you help
make possible which provide
real relief for our neighbors
in need. The proof is in the
testimonies from families like
Ana’s on page 8. Her story of
perseverance is possible thanks
to caring individuals like you
who choose to freely give your
time and treasure.
In our 2016 fiscal year, your
gifts helped provide a record
breaking number of meals. As
we continue to work together on
our 10-year plan to connect our
neighbors with 92 million meals
by 2025, I’m so very thankful
for your partnership. You’re a
genuine hero to the thousands of
people in North Texas suffering
quietly from the painful
consequences of hunger.
This fall, I wish you and yours
a happy holiday season. I hope
you’ll choose to continue to
stand with us as we work to
make hunger a thing of the past
here in North Texas.
