Nancy remembers being hungry in Venezuela. It feels like a lifetime ago, but the memories of struggling are all too clear.
“ They sell food boxes, but they are too expensive and it’ s all bad. The food comes rotten or expired,” Nancy says.
Years have passed, but as a senior in North Texas, she finds herself needing help again. Nancy is not alone. The increasing cost of living makes it particularly hard on seniors who cannot stretch their budget enough to cover both their bills and food. Your support of the North Texas Food Bank gives Nancy a very different experience than in Venezuela.
“ I’ m so grateful,” she says.“ It’ s such a wonderful, beautiful thing, and I’ m just so grateful. In this country, there are so many people helping and that’ s God’ s work. Truly, I appreciate that so much.”
