This year , more than ever , I ’ m thankful for you . Your kindness and compassion mean so much to our neighbors hit hard by rising daily living expenses . Many families struggle to put any nutritious meal on the table , much less a special holiday feast . I ’ m writing to you for their sake today . . . they are the faces of hunger all around us .
Maybe it ’ s the face of a senior neighbor whose fixed income barely covers bills and medicines with nothing left for groceries . It could be the quiet child at school whose school lunch is his last meal of the day . People you encounter every day are hungry . This winter , you are helping them .
Thanks to generous friends like you , children , seniors and families facing hunger in North Texas will have nutritious meals for the holidays . Instead of wondering how they will feed their families , they can enjoy being together .
