Children Facing Hunger Need Your Help This Summer
Many of us can fondly recall how excited we were for the carefree days of summer to arrive . But throughout North Texas , countless children can ’ t share that excitement .
That ’ s because 300,000 children in our community don ’ t know where their next meal will come from . During the school year , they depend on the healthy breakfasts and lunches they get for free . Now , their parents are struggling as they add many more meals to an already stretched budget at a time when food prices have been increasing .
During times like these , I ’ m thankful for friends like you . Your gifts allow us to provide these children and their families with healthy food over the summer months . And with so many challenges parents are facing right now , your support will come at a crucial time .
Inside this newsletter , you ’ ll read about the neighbors you ’ ve helped — from Austin , a father of two who lost his job and worried how he ’ d feed his family , to Martina , a mother on disability who struggled with the rising cost of food . Thanks to you , their families and many others can access healthy food this summer .
