You’re feeding neighbors like Aruilla this
holiday season
When her daughter and primary caregiver passed
away, Aruilla was devastated and didn’t know how
she’d make it through. The grief was almost too much to
handle, but then there were the financial concerns. Aruilla
is on disability and receives social security, but the
money she brings in barely covers her rent.
Her grandson, 27, is now her primary caregiver and
helps pay the bills when he can. Even with his help, most
months it feels impossible to make ends meet.
Thankfully, Aruilla discovered the Amazing Grace
Food Pantry, a Partner Agency within North Texas
Food Bank’s feeding network, that is stocked with
nutritious food from caring friends like you.
For more than a year, the team at the food pantry has
been a second family to Aruilla. Once a week, she visits
and stocks up on produce, meat and other healthy foods.
“They have a lot of salad ingredients, and I love salad,”
Aruilla says.
Last year, the food pantry even provided a holiday
meal for Aruilla and her family.
“The holidays were hard, but Amazing Grace gave us
a turkey and all the trimmings to have a nice meal, and
that helped a lot,” Aruilla says.
She is looking forward to another holiday season
full of joy, because of you. Your continued support of

hardships, like Aruilla and her grandson, won’t go hungry.
“I would not be able to get nutritious foods. We
just can’t afford it,” says Aruilla.

“I just don’t know what we would do if we didn’t
have this place to come to,” Aruilla says. “I’m so happy
that I found it.”
