Thank you for making a difference for our North Texas neighbors. The Hidden Hungry “Thank you for your support; it helps my family so much.” Helping our neighbors in need There’s a crisis in our community that many people don’t see: hidden hunger. Across North Texas, one in six people is food insecure. That means someone in your very own neighborhood, your church or at a nearby school is not sure where their next meal will come from. Many of those we serve have multiple jobs, but they also have rents that are too high. And as you know, federal employees have had to go weeks without pay. Add in unexpected medical expenses and rising food costs, and you can see why many of our neighbors can’t make ends meet. In order to eat each day, they rely on the Food Bank’s network of Partner Agencies such as soup kitchens and food pantries. And we rely on caring people like you to ensure that we can keep providing them with nutritious food at no cost. But the requests for assistance are immense, and our neighbors need us now more than ever. Every $1 you give provides three meals. With your ongoing support, we can continue to put food on the plates of the “hidden hungry” in North Texas. To give online today, visit ntfb.org/springnewsletter. It’s so helpful and the people who work here are so kind,” Maria says. Maria has a full cupboard to feed her children and parents this month, thanks to you!
