Last December , we reported the huge step forward in tackling COVID-19 , when the borough ’ s first patient was given his vaccine and the older and most vulnerable then got their jabs over the winter months . Since then , all of the adult and late-teen age groups have steadily followed suit .

Ealing Council recently finished working with schools and the NHS to offer the vaccine to all 12-15 year-olds .

‘ SAY YES TO THE VACCINE ’ The COVID-19 vaccine gives you the best protection against coronavirus . By taking the vaccine , you are not only protecting yourself , you are also protecting those around you . Vaccines can significantly reduce the spread of coronavirus – but only if enough people are vaccinated .

GET YOUR BOOSTER You can book your COVID-19 booster vaccine dose online if you are a frontline health or social care worker , or you are aged 50 and over – or you are aged 16 or over and have a health condition that puts you at high risk from COVID-19 . It is also possible to
walk-up to some centres if it has been six months since your second dose .

STAY SAFE THIS WINTER The flu vaccination is ever-more important this year because more people are likely to get flu over the winter months than usual because fewer people will have built up natural immunity to it during the sociallydistanced conditions of much of the COVID-19 pandemic . Getting vaccinated against flu and having your COVID-19 booster will provide protection for you and those around you for both these serious viruses .
