UCL academics about how faith communities come
together and how they operate.
Local history talks
• 12 January 2016: Agatha Christie and Ealing
On the 40th anniversary of the death of the best selling
author, this talk looks at her links with Ealing, where
she often stayed with her great aunt, the inspiration for
Miss Marple, and references to Ealing in her stories.
• 9 February 2016: The Ancient Rectories and
Vicarages of Ealing Talk
This talk looks at some of the more prominent buildings
in the borough, often dating back to the Middle Ages
and how they were rebuilt and how they declined in the
20th Century.
• 29 March 2016: Underground Ealing
What lies beneath the surface of the borough now and in
the past? Talk deals with air raid shelters, post war civil
defence structures, an underground toilet, an ice house,
underground streams and also the tunnels of local fantasy.
All in the Green Room at Ealing Central Library at 6.15pm.
