Hanwell Station will be more
accessible to commuters when
its second entrance is reopened
for the first time since it was bricked up
in the 1970s. The £300,000 project to
revive the abandoned entrance in Station
Approach was long desired by the council
and residents. The work, which has been
funded by Transport for London and the
council, also includes new paving and
lighting, CCTV cameras, a new canopy,
cycle parking and seating. It had to be
approved by English Heritage because the
building is Grade II listed.
