RECYCLING Essential Christmas tick-list Remember… To recycle any cardboard packaging that comes with your presents by popping it in the green recycling box, or your white sack if it the packaging is plastic You cannot place wrapping paper out in your recycling collection because it often contains foil To recycle any dinner leftovers in your food waste bin or to compost vegetable peelings and egg shells To recycle any glass, cans or plastic containers To recycle any batteries you are finished with – these can go in your green recycling box. A pledge a day R egister for the council’s residents’ rewards scheme with Greenredeem and you could qualify for extra points every day through Christmas. In the traditional style of an advent calendar, each day a little treat can be unveiled by registering, pledging to be green and committing to recycling. The more you recycle, the more points can be accumulated. You could get something small like a free coffee, or something larger like a discount off a holiday.
