Windrush Day
To mark Windrush Day , Rudi Page and Derek Clement will talk about the ups and downs of being brought up as a child of Windrush parents , and relive memories of Acton and Ealing in the 1960s / 70s . Most of the passengers were ex-servicemen who had fought in the war and were now seeking work . They later became known as the ‘ Windrush Generation ’. The story continues with the children who were born in the Caribbean and England who were brought up with the aspirations of doing better than their parents .
