With the final easing of lockdown restrictions on the horizon , people will soon be able to get back to doing the things they love and have missed . Local businesses are here to help . Councillor Bassam Mahfouz , Ealing Council ’ s cabinet member for decent living incomes , said : “ While we might be near the end of the road for lockdown restrictions , the road to recovery is only just beginning for our local businesses . With many forced to close for a large part of last year , local businesses need all our support to shop local and help them get back on track . SUPPORTING LOCAL BUSINESSES
The council has been on hand supporting businesses throughout the pandemic with financial support and operational guidance as well as supporting the borough-wide high street taskforce to help ensure that business can recover and bounce back from the economic challenges they face . By the end of March , the council ’ s finance team had paid £ 107million in awards , with 17,080 grant payments provided to local business .
