Council meetings
Ready to serve
A new approach to housing management is aiming
to give council tenants a single point of contact
for all of their tenancy needs, close to home.
Quinton Drawbridge reports.
F
ollowing the success of My
Housing Hub in Northolt and
the Copley Management Hub
in Hanwell, Ealing Council has
decided to replicate the same model
across the whole borough.
Every tenant will be assigned a locally
based, named council officer who can
help them access housing services.
Amongst other issues, they will be able
30
around ealing Summer 2019
to help with things like rent problems,
requests for lodgers, pets or moving
home, and tenancy successions.
Six new local offices will serve
their local neighbourhoods, making
it quicker and easier for tenants to
access housing services. The new hubs
will remove the need to make several
appointments with different teams at
Perceval House.
Four of the hubs are now open:
n Ealing – Perceval House
n Hanwell – Copley Management Hub
n Northolt – My Housing Hub Northolt
n Southall – Golf Links
Two more will follow soon:
n Acton – Everyone Active Acton
Centre (from July – services will be run
from Perceval House until then)
n Greenford / Perivale – Poplars
(from February 2020 – tenants can
use My Housing Hub in Northolt in
the meantime).
Tenants can drop in at the hubs or
make an appointment.
Councillor Peter Mason is Ealing
Council’s lead member for housing,
planning and transformation. He
said: “Our new housing hubs will
make us better placed to hear any
concerns that our tenants want to
raise. There’s no substitute for local
knowledge, and having officers based
in our neighbourhoods will help us
continually improve our services.”
