Ealing Summer Festivals Week of music Ealing Blues and Jazz festivals will be shaking things up in Walpole Park in July with live music performances under the big top tent. EALING BLUES FESTIVAL Spanning over two days, the Ealing Blues Festival is now the largest dedicated blues event in Britain. The festival takes over the park on Saturday, 19 and Sunday, 20 July bringing together a range of musical styles, from soulful blues through to heavy rock tunes. With one of Britain’s top female blues singers, Connie Lush and Kat and Co bringing their cool, contemporary style of Jazz, Blues and Soul to the stage, the weekend is packed with powerful performances. The festivals main stage will be closed on Sunday by Earl Thomas. The Tennessee- born artist has opened shows for legendary artists including Etta James. Gates open at 1.30pm each day and the main stage shows run between 2pm and 10.30pm. Entry is £5 a person, per day; or £8 per person for both days. Children aged 12 and under can get in free. EA EA EALING JAZZ FESTIVAL F Fro Wednesday, 23 July Ealing From Ja Ja Festival will be back for the Jazz 30 30th time with its huge selection of ja ja jazz, funky Latin, funk fusion, bebop a and hard bop bands performing for fiv nights in Walpole Park. ve The festival’s opening night sees t the return of Ray Gelato Giants a and Chris Hodgkins and his band. T They are followed on 24 July by the Damian Cook Quartet and Nick Mills’s Blue Note Project, Frank Griffith and his Nonet and the Blue Note Project. The Emily Francis Quartet, Keith Waithe and the Macusi Players, Vasilis Xenopoulos and the Wind Machine and Dick Esmond’s Sound of 17 Big Band are all lined up to take the make this year’s Jazz Festival stand out from all the rest. The Ealing based band, Watertight Group will be joined on the main stage by Sarah Tandy on Sunday 27.
