Future Youth Inspired (FYI) is the new name
for our borough’s free summer holiday
courses and activities for young people.
F
YI, previously known as Futureversity, is created by young
people for young people, so you are guaranteed to find
something that will grab your interest or suit your style.
There is something for everyone and, better yet, it is all
completely free of charge.
FYI will run for five weeks over the summer holidays, from
Monday, 28 July until Friday, 29 August. Its courses are specially
designed for young people who either live, study or go to school
in the borough and are aged between 13-19 (or up to 25 for those
who require additional support). There is also a smaller range of
courses available for 11 and 12 years olds.
The wide variety of free courses includes Build a Bike; animation;
canoeing; parkour (‘free running’); Ariel Circus Skills; hair, beauty
and barbering; water sports; photography; Light and Shadow
Dance; and catering and hospitality.

to book your place. The online booking system will show you where
and when the activities are taking place and how many spaces are
available. All courses are offered on a first come, first served basis.
FYI gives an opportunity to try out fun and inspirational
experiences, learn new skills and get to know other young people
in the local area. By taking part, you will have the chance to build
your abilities and confidence, while helping you to gain a nationally
recognised accreditation. The council’s Youth and
Connexions staff also offer advice and support to
