Get jabbed

While many of the legal COVID-19 restrictions that the government put in during lockdown were lifted in July , residents are being reminded to remain cautious . Rates continued to rise in the borough over the summer , in line with trend across the rest of the country . Jack Butler reports .

Residents who enter council buildings will be expected to wear a face covering unless exempt . Members of the public who come into contact with council staff will also be expected to wear a face covering when indoors .

THREE WAYS TO STAY SAFE There are three main ways to stay safe against COVID-19 – all three steps should be taking to make sure you are at the least risk of getting and spreading the virus :

Follow public health guidance , especially the simple rules of Hands , Face , Space , Fresh Air Hands – wash your hands regularly Face – wear a face covering Space – keep a distance between yourself and others Fresh air – if you do meet indoors make sure it is well ventilated .

2 vaccine If you are over 18 you can walk-up and get your jab . No ID , no NHS number , no problem . You can either walk up to CP House mass vaccination centre , a number of local pharmacies , or check online for pop-up vaccination events across the borough .
Get tested regularly

Residents who are leaving their home should take a test regularly even if they are not displaying symptoms .

‘ REMAIN CAUTIOUS ’ Councillor Josh Blacker , Ealing Council ’ s cabinet member for healthy lives , said : “ Despite a heroic effort by the NHS , not everyone has been able to be vaccinated yet , so there are still real risks to spreading the virus .
“ Residents should remain cautious and are reminded that the best way of keeping ourselves , and others , safe against COVID-19 is to follow public health guidance – and remember the hands , face , space , fresh air rule .
“ You should continue to do this even if you ’ ve had a negative test and have had a vaccine or both .”
