OUTDOOR FUN
PERFECT CHANCE TO GET
CLOSER TO NATURE
Councillor Bassam Mahfouz,
cabinet member for finance
and leisure said: “The Rickyard
is a great space for learning
and we are also taking
activities out into Walpole
Park wherever possible.
“I think it’s hugely beneficial
for young people to engage
with nature and these
activities are providing local
children with the perfect
opportunity to do just that.”

ALL THINGS GEORGIAN AT
GUNNERSBURY
And it is not just Walpole
welcoming visitors with
exciting events in the
coming weeks.
Gunnersbury Park
and Museum will
be opening
its doors to
visitors and
there is a
decidedly
Georgian feel
to the fun this
over the Easter
and May half-
term holidays.
Look out for the
Butterflies, Birds and
Beetles Trail –
where families can pick out
a trail across Gunnersbury
Park and discover a wealth
of wildlife on the way.
Free make-and-take
activities will be running
– including paper wig
making over the Easter
holidays and traditional
Polish paper cutting over
May half‑term.
This month visitors will have
the chance to get musical at the
Magnificent Mozart workshop and
party like its 1799 at Princess Amelia’s
House Party.
There will also be a fantastic pottery
workshop Mayhem in Miniature,
featuring pottery, clay and storytelling.
Visitors can meet the Victorian Servants
Gunnersbury Museum’s atmospheric
historic kitchens and learn about
life below stairs, discover what was
fashionable in the 19th Century at a
Georgian Dress Up session and learn
about stop motion animation at an
exciting workshop.
The Little Flamingos Music: Movers
and Shakers will be returning in April
and May. This fun interactive dancing
workshop will be back and are suitable
for walking babies and toddlers.
