The line is to connect Hounslow with Cricklewood and Hendon, and would go via South Acton, Acton Central, and Old Oak stations. The plan was proposed by a partnership of the seven west London councils, including Ealing (West London Alliance), and will be taken forward with Transport for London and Network Rail. It allows anyone registered with a GP practice to book or cancel appointments, order repeat prescriptions and view their records, all without having to call the surgery. More than 83,000 appointments were booked this way between July-December 2017 across north-west London. In fact, a quarter of people using GP services used the online system in this time. By doing so, rather than booking in person or over the phone, GP practices have saved time, too. The registration process is simple; for details visit the NHS Choices website at www.nhs.uk 3 Bowel cancer is the UK’s third most common cancer and the second leading cause of cancer deaths. Most people who get bowel cancer are aged over 60 and the NHS invites people to take easy tests to help prevent it. Every year, thousands of residents in Ealing aged between 55 and 74 are invited to take part in the National Bowel Cancer Screening Programme, through one of two types of quick and easy preventative test.
