Having released eight albums (including the Japanese releases), BTS were enter­ ing a new era with WINGS (2016). Yoongi surprised the fans by dropping a self-titled mixtape on August 16, 2016, under the infamous alias of Agust D. AGUST D serves as a collection of memories presented in a form of a mixtape. The songs are almost a callback to his pre-debut, original style of rap - raw, unapologetic lyrics, boasting his success, dragging the wannabes and the haters alike ("Agust D", "Give It To Me", and "Tony Montana") and a flow that undoubtedly attests to Yoongi's abilities. Yet, the mix- tape also unveils a new side of him. In the hard-hitting "The Last" and slow-paced "Far Away (feat. Suran)", Yoongi bears his soul.
