He was feeling self-conscious about his vo-
cal abilities, too. In the log on the 24th of April,
2016, Jimin shared his concerns about his
singing. He said it doesn’t matter how hard
he tries, he can’t do it well.
I WANT TO HAVE A VOICE THAT
PEOPLE OFTEN DESCRIBE AS
‘A VOICE THAT MOVES AND
TOUCHES PEOPLE’ SOMEDAY,”
JIMIN ADMITTED.
Jungkook has also mentioned that Jimin
feels bad after every performance because
he wouldn’t know how to use his vocal cords
properly (Burn The Stage, Ep. 4). Jimin him-
self has expressed that he gets sensitive
about these things: “Others could say that
it’s not a big deal, but that one thing makes
me feel guilty. […]If I keep making mistakes,
it’ll be so hard for me to bear it. More so be-
cause there’s nothing I can do about it.” (Burn
The Stage, Ep. 2).
However, all of this struggle, the self-criticism,
the need to deliver perfect performances,
it comes from sincere love – for the mem-
bers and for the fans. On many occasions,
Jimin has shown empathy and support for
the boys. Throughout “BTS Run” episodes,
Jimin is heard asking the members to be
careful and not get hurt. When Taehyung
fell down on stage during “Blood, Sweat &
Tears” or when J-Hope slipped performing
“Fire” in some of the concerts, Jimin looked
worried and kept his eyes on them. Before
performing “Just One Day”, he went around
double-checking the chairs needed for the
40
performance, making sure they were safe.
In “Bon Voyage” season one we see Jimin
taking care of a sleeping Jungkook. He com-
pliments members as well as supports them
emotionally and acting as their rock. He plays
and jokes around. He does his best to make
them feel happy. Jimin voices his feelings
towards the members in Burn The Stage se-
ries as well: “I enjoy when I do things with
these people. They make me think that we
can do so many things. And that motivates
me more. Just having them by my side
encourages me as well.”
