And such aspects of the game culminated to make the series fun and distinctive. This new coat of paint the series has received is anything but, transforming it into yet another generic run

of the mill zombie game, quite a disappointment. The final game I would like to mention is Sunset Overdrive, a very stylized and colorful open-world shooter set in a near-future metropolis after an unknown catastrophe transformed the majority of the city’s inhabitants into hulking mutants. And seeing as it’s being developed by Insomniac Games, the creators of some of my favorite childhood time syncs such as the Ratchet & Clank series as well as Spyro (at least the good ones) I have fairly high expectations for this title. The trailer includes some interesting looking gameplay mechanics such as zip lines, wall running, and my personal favorite, neon orange soft drinks that explode with the force of 10 Michael Bay movies. A sort of free running shoot-‘em-up. And since it appears to be very multiplayer oriented (or at the very least co-op) I would definitely keep an eye on it if you’re looking for an experience with friends that breaks the mold

of most other co-op games.

Now I would like to move on from games to the actual system itself, and maybe more importantly, the policies Microsoft put forward. Microsoft attempted to advance multiple concepts during the Xbox One’s reveal. They pulled a full 180 on many of the policies that had received much criticism by gamers. The company stated that they had listened to feedback given by consumers and adjusted aspects of the system, such as the following: The “Phoning Home/Always on” system which required the Xbox One to check in every 24 hours with Microsoft’s servers. There will still be a one-time setup required to register the

system with Xbox Live in order to operate the system, however after that there will be no need for a connection again.
