The Certification Process
Attaining the CRA designation is based on educational background, work experience, and passing the three examinations. Even more exciting is that, once certified, CRAs can elect to take additional exams at their own pace( not limited to the five-year examination cycle) if they wish to pursue the CRM. Credit is awarded for already having passed Parts 2 through 4( of the six Parts of the CRM examination).

Fees
Application Fee( Nonrefundable): $ 100( USD) Fee per Exam( Parts 2-4): $ 100( USD)* Annual Regular Membership Fee: $ 200( USD) Annual Retired Membership Fee: $ 15( USD) Reinstatement Fee: $ 100( USD) * These fees are only refundable if an applicant cancels his / her registration at least thirty( 30) days prior to the examination date. Exam prices are in USD for exams taken in the US and Canada. Exams taken in other countries may cost more. a full member of the Institute. The ICRM believes it is vital that a CRA remains current in the dynamic field of Records and Information Management. This is handled through Certification Maintenance Points( CMPs). This Certification Maintenance process ensures that members:
� Maintain professional competence;
� Update existing knowledge and skills; and
� Attain new or additional knowledge and skills. Active CRAs must earn and submit 100 points for approved educational activity during each five-year period following initial certification.
Resources
The Institute has many resources in place to assist and support the CRA candidate. Resources include an annotated Bibliography, sample questions and guidance available online, and current materials relevant to RIM competencies and educational sessions offered through ARMA International.
The ICRM has a licensed Examination Preparation product that provides comprehensive workshops which cover Parts 1 through 6, including practice case studies. The Examination Preparation product is delivered through ARMA Chapters and industry-specific associations as well as being offered at annual Examination Preparation Workshops in association with the ARMA Conference, the MER Conference, NIRMA and other venues throughout the year.
