The ARMA Arizona Chapter's January meeting was
held at the AZ Library, Archives and Public Records
Division.

Our host, and speaker, Jerry Lucente-Kirkpatrick
presented to our members a glimpse of a new
“Records Officer Certificate Program”. The program
will allow Records Officers to begin training modules
as they are appointed for their agencies. This
program is not only for Records Officers as defined
in ARS §41-151.14. Any person who manages
records within their company or agency will benefit
from participating in this program and are
encouraged to do so.
Beginning around 2017, the first twelve sessions
planned, may include:
The modules are designed to be self-paced but must
be completed within nine months after which a
certificate of completion will be issued.
Recertification is required every two years with
newer, more in depth sessions planned to be offered
as the program develops.
The training will be tracked through a new Learning
Management System (LMS) and will accept both
State and Non-State employees. The system will
also manage: tracking of each participant’s progress
through the Records Officer Certificate Program,
testing and grading at the end of each session,
downloading of modules, blended learning (Case
