Bond 2014: Agricultural Science Center Opened in October Goats and a heifer were the first to occupy the AISD’s newest facility, the Agricultural Science Center, when they moved into the new building the week of Oct. 23. Staff and students moved in and started classes about a week later. The 23,000 square-foot Agricultural Science Center includes 54 flexible-fencing pens for goats and sheep, 14 heifer pens, rabbit pens, an animal exercise area, a metal construction lab and two classrooms. In addi- tion, the center will soon be net-zero. It will include solar panels, a wind turbine and rainwater collection, allowing the facility to operate completely on its own energy production. A display inside the building will illustrate for students and visitors the status of energy production and use. 10 Arlington School & Family
