Sam Houston Communty Scholars
A Sam Houston High School-record
nine seniors were awarded a $260,000
TCU Community Scholars scholarship
in a surprise visit to the campus in
late March. Victoria A., De’Aysia B.,
Kelsey B., Ruth C., Diana D., Sally
H., Andra L., Andrew M., and Linda
V. were all surprised as they walked
into Sam Houston’s Little Theater
full of fellow classmates and teachers
cheering them on. The scholarship will
finance four years of undergraduate
studies.
Sam Houston is one of 13 area schools
that participate in the TCU Community
Scholars Program, and this year
approximately 40 scholarships will
be awarded to students who must go
through the normal application process
for admission to TCU, plus complete
extra essays and interviews to be
accepted into the program.
