Highlights EXECUTIVE BOARD CEO Jeffrey Levy COO Pat Fowler XX-TCU Scholarships Eight Sam Houston High School seniors were awarded a $250,000 TCU Community Scholars scholarship. EDITORIAL Editor Mariam G. MacGregor Style Editor Amy Levy XX-STEM Week Many events took place at select schools to celebrate STEM Week during the week of April 27 through May 1. XX-AISD Education Celebration The Education Celebration, which was held at Six Flags Over Texas, was a success. Many came out to join in the evening’s festivities. XX-Entrepreneurship Contest The AISD and the Arlington Chamber of Commerce partnered together to engage students in entrepreneurship with the What’s Your Big Idea? Entrepreneurship Contest. XX-Schools Named The Board of Trustees announced the names of three new elementary schools and one Fine Arts/Dual Language Academy. XX-Lockheed Martin Interns Five AISD seniors gave their final project reports marking the completion of their high school engineering internship at Lockheed Martin’s aeronautics business. Upon their high school graduation, they will transition to college interns for the summer. On the Cover History was made when Seguin High School’s girls track team won their first Texas 5A Track and Field State Championship in Austin.
