SUMMARY
This chapter has outlined the various activity levels that might reasonably be anticipated over the next
10 years at Arlington Municipal Airport. Exhibit 2G presents a summary of the aviation demand fore‐
casts. The baseline year for forecast data is 2014. The forecasting effort extends 10 years to 2024.
Forecasts of aviation activity, including based aircraft and operations, is key to determining future facil‐
ity requirements. There are currently 254 aircraft based at the airport, and this is forecast to grow to
300 aircraft by 2024. It is estimated that the Airport will experience 74,645 operations in 2014. This is
forecast to grow to approximately 87,990 operations annually by 2024.
The fleet mix operations, or type and frequency of aircraft use, is important in determining facility re‐
quirements and environmental impacts. While single engine piston‐powered aircraft are expected to
represent the majority of based aircraft, the long term forecast considers increasing the number of
turboprop and jet aircraft in the fleet mix.
The next step in the Development Plan process is to use the

tional aids, as well as landside requirements, including
hangars, aircraft aprons, and support services. As a general observation, Arlington Municipal Airport is
well‐positioned for growth into the future. The remaining portions of the Development Plan will lay
out how that growth can be accommodated in an orderly, efficient, and cost‐effective manner.
