Chapter Five RECOMMENDED DEVELOPMENT CONCEPT The process for the prepara on of the Development Plan has included technical efforts in the previous chapters intended to establish the role of Arlington Municipal Airport, project poten al avia on demand, establish airside and landside facility needs, and evaluate op ons for improving the Airport to meet those facility needs. The planning process has included the development of dra phase reports. These have been presented to the Planning Advisory Commi ee (PAC), which is comprised of cons tuents with an investment or interest in the Airport and surrounding area. This diverse group has provided extremely valuable input into the Development Plan. Addi onally, a series of Public Informa on Workshops are being conducted as part of this planning process, providing the general public an opportunity to be involved and educated about the study. The alterna ves that outlined future growth and development scenarios in the previous chapter have been refined into a single development concept for the Development Plan, which is included for presenta on in this chapter. Environmental condi ons that need to be considered during development are also examined later in the chapter. One of the objec ves of the Development Plan is to equip decision-makers with the ability to either accelerate or slow development goals based on actual demand. If demand slows, development of the Airport beyond rou ne safety and maintenance could be minimized. If avia on demand accelerates, development could be expedited. Any plan can account for limited development, but the lack of a plan for accelerated growth can some mes be challenging.
