Moving south of the terminal area, a taxilane serving several T‐hangar facilities, as called out on Exhibit
4G, is located too close to parallel Taxiway A. Separation standards between a parallel taxiway and
taxilane (centerline to centerline) are 105 feet and 152 feet from ADG II and ADG III design, respective‐
ly. The current distance between the taxiway and taxilane in this area is only 60 feet. One option to
improving this separation deficiency is to remove the need for the taxilane. This could be done by in‐
filling the grass islands between parallel Taxiway A and the taxilane with pavement, which would allow
aircraft to taxi directly from the hangar areas to the taxiway system. Otherwise, in order to adhere to
proper separation standards, portions of six T‐hangar facilities would have to be removed. Further‐
more, the existing and ultimate TOFAs limit aircraft parking on the west side of two of the T‐hangars
that are aligned with Taxiway A as they are very close to the existing facilities. The only way to truly
mitigate this shortcoming would be redevelopment of this hangar area. It should be noted that a Mod‐
ification to Standard could be sought, allowing for the acceptance of these design standard deficien‐
cies.
Finally, the south aircraft parking apron contains a taxilane that is located 80 feet west of the parallel
taxiway centerline. Future planning should consider in‐filling the grass island between the apron and
taxiway. In doing so, aircraft could taxi directly from the marked tiedown positions to the taxiway.
Another option would be to remove nine marked aircraft tiedown spaces that utilize this taxilane to
access the parallel taxiway system. The removal of the tiedown spaces will render the taxilane without
function, allowing it to be removed from the parking apron.

ment and to provide work areas for airport maintenance personnel. The landside alternatives pre‐
sented later in this chapter will depict locations on the Airport that could accommodate a maintenance
facility.
REVENUE SUPPORT LAND USES
Due to the amount of land on airport property exceeding the space needed for forecast aviation de‐
mand, consideration is given for Arlington Municipal Airport to utilize portions of its property for non‐
aviation purposes, to include commercial, industrial, or manufacturing development. It should be not‐
ed that the Airport does not have the approval to use undeveloped property for non‐aviation purposes
at this time. Specific approval from the FAA and TxDOT will be required to utilize undeveloped proper‐
ty for non‐aviation uses. This planning document does not gain approval for non‐aviation uses, even if
