Existing Based Aircraft Forecasts
Forecasts of based aircraft for Arlington Municipal Airport completed in previous studies and reports
are presented in Table 2J. The FAA TAF is a generalized annual forecast of airport activity produced by
the FAA. The TAF estimates in 2014 there were 256 based aircraft at the airport. It projects based air‐
craft growing at an AAGR of 1.29 percent through 2024, resulting in 291 based aircraft. As previously
discussed, the airport is currently reporting 254 based aircraft, two fewer than the TAF base year esti‐
mate.

A second existing forecast is from the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) North
Central Texas General Aviation and Heliport System Plan: Horizon 2035. The System Plan has a base
year of 2010 and it identified 235 based aircraft for Arlington Municipal Airport at that time. The Sys‐
tem Plan forecasted an annual growth rate of 1.47 percent, leading to 288 based aircraft by 2024.
The NCTCOG System Plan forecasts have been interpolated to the plan years of this Development Plan
as shown in the table. Both the FAA TAF and System Plan forecasts serve as a comparison to the se‐
lected based aircraft forecast to emerge from this Development Plan.
