South Arlington (south of I-20)

Just over 50 percent of the all property
in south Arlington is developed as
single family residences. When I-20
opened in 1975, Overland Stage
Estates became the first major
residential subdivision to be built
south of the new highway. This
pattern of single family development
continues today, extending to far
southeast Arlington near Joe Pool
Lake. Unfortunately, because of the
economic downtown, a large number
of foreclosures occurred in southeast
Arlington between 2009 and 2010.

West of US 287 lays vacant land with
the potential for new development.
