Arlington Comprehensive Plan Update Adopted 3-17-2015 | Page 133
Downtown/University Neighborhood (High
Intensity) - In order to maximize this area’s
potential, a mix of residential uses and mixed-use
buildings is encouraged. There should be retail,
educational, office, government, cultural, and
entertainment venues to serve those living in
and around the area. Most intense uses should be
centered in an area bounded by Cooper Street to
Collins Street and extending from Division Street
to UT Arlington’s boundary.
Regional Activity Center - These areas
provide the opportunity to create special
places that include residential, retail, offices,
and entertainment. These areas are typically
considerably larger and more diverse in land uses
than other land use classifications. Development
opportunities specific to the Entertainment
District should include restaurants and shopping,
hotels, skating and other sports facilities, and
sports-related medical and training facilities.
Regional Industrial Center - This area contains
a wide range of commercial and idustrial
operations, a variety of work processes and work
places such as manufacturing, warehousing and
distribution, research and development activities,
serving the entire region.
