Water
Adequate, high-quality water
supplies are necessary for
both community use and local
ecosystems. Everyone must
work together to assure an
adequate water supply to meet
future needs. In Arlington,
water is also a source of
recreation; therefore, the city
must find ways to maintain
and balance high water quality,
thriving ecosystems, and
recreational opportunities.
Water Quality
Lake Arlington is the source
of drinking water for over
500,000 people in Arlington
and surrounding areas. The
lake is filled by tributaries from
its watershed in addition to
water pumped in by the Tarrant
Regional Water District (TRWD)
from Richland Chambers
Reservoir, Cedar Creek Reservoir
and Lake Benbrook. In 2011, the
