Recycling
In 1994, Arlington initiated the first curbside recycling program, which was
expanded to include a variety of other programs such as leaf recycling,
household hazardous waste disposal and the Read and Recycling program. The
Read and Recycling program provides opportunities for community residents
who do not have curbside pick-up to recycle at seven community libraries
throughout the city.
In 2013, the city switched from curbside recycling bins to rolling carts. These
