ARIZONA NATIONAL Selects Ambassador
The Arizona National Livestock Show is pleased to announce that Paloma Fajardo of Laveen , Arizona was selected to serve as the Ambassador to represent the Show for the coming year .
Paloma is currently attending Central Arizona College where she will complete her Associates in Arts of Agriculture degree in the fall and then transfer to the University of Arizona in the spring to pursue her Bachelors of Science in Animal Science and Equine Science .
A graduate of Bourgade Catholic High School in 2013 , Paloma was actively involved as a member of the East Side Kids 4H Club where she raised cattle . She also volunteered with the Westside Sherriff ’ s posse and Cowboys for Kids , a nonprofit association where she served as their 2002 Rodeo Princess . From an early age Paloma has been involved in the Arizona National Livestock Show where she showed Prospect Feeder Steers and heifers . Her accomplishments have included receiving the 2012 Reserve Champion Prospect Feeder Steer , third place in 2013 as an Overall Showman , 2015 Reserve Champion AOB Open Heifer , and the 2015 Rose Mofford Award for Outstanding Arizona Exhibitor . She has also actively assisted with the Livestock Judging Contest .
Paloma will have the opportunity to serve as a spokesperson for the Arizona National Livestock Show this year representing the Association at various county fairs , agriculture industry and community events . She will receive a $ 2,000 education scholarship as part of the Ambassador program .
Arizona National Livestock Show Selects 2016-2017 Scholarship Recipient ’ s The Arizona National Livestock Show recently awarded over $ 63,500 in scholarships for the 2016 academic school year . The scholarship recipients will be honored at the 69th Arizona National Livestock Show Gala on December 28 , 2016 at the Arizona State Fairgrounds . Congratulations to the following recipients :

Scholarships are available to students attending pursing a bachelor degree at an accredited university or college for the current academic year . Other requirements include : High School graduation ; completion of at least 12 semester hours post High School graduation before applying ; currently taking at least 12 credit hours ; a minimum grade point average of 2.5 ( A = 4 ); and prior participation in the Arizona National Livestock Show .
Scholarships are funded through donations to the show with the help from the Arizona Horse Lovers Foundation , Robert & Miriam Boice Memorial , Georgeann Maxcy Memorial , and Everett Bowman Memorial .
