Aunt Judy ' s Congo Bars
Submitted by Misty Voitovski , Creative Director This easy dessert , using classic ingredients , has always been a family favorite !
INGREDIENTS 2 cups brown sugar , packed 1 1 / 3 sticks melted butter 3 eggs 1 tsp . vanilla 2 1 / 3 cup flour 2 1 / 2 tsp . baking powder Pinch of salt 1 12 oz . pkg . semi-sweet chocolate chips ( or 1 / 2 chocolate / 1 / 2 peanut butter morsels ) 1 / 2 cup chopped nuts ( optional )
DIRECTIONS Cream sugar and melted butter . Add all other ingredients .
Pour into a greased , 9x13 baking pan . Bake at 350 º for 20-25 minutes . Let cool in the pan and cut into squares .

Grandma Willmon ' s Darn Good Dressin '!
Submitted by Gordon Grantham , Owner & Publisher Gordon ’ s mom , Sherry , shares her delicious take on a holiday staple !
INGREDIENTS 1 stick of butter 1 cup chopped celery 1 cup chopped onion 1 large apple 1 cup Craisins 1 pound roll of hot sausage ( pork ) 1 / 2 teaspoon sage 1 teaspoon Montreal Steak seasoning ’ s 2-32 ounce boxes of chicken broth 2-14 ounce bags of corn bread stuffing
DIRECTIONS Melt butter in skillet .
Add celery , onions , apples and Craisins and saute over medium heat . Add spices mix , and remove from heat . In a 5qt stock pot , cook sausage . Add chicken broth , sautéed fruit and vegetables , then corn bread crumbs . Mix well and enjoy !!
