eon signs and Perry Wieweck have
a symbiotic relationship. When
one goes dark, it’s his signal to get
back to work. “I like my retirement but I do
miss working on signs,” Perry says. “I enjoy
my trade and love to do neon.”
Perry is part of the A & B Sign
Company, a third-generation family
business in Prescott. Although Perry
retired five years ago, he’s still the
company’s neon expert, occasionally
coming back to fashion glass tubing into
unforgettable signs. The firm has been
designing, manufacturing, and servicing
signs in northern Arizona for more than 60
years. His son, Bryan Wieweck, currently
runs the company, which was started by
Perry’s father, Arnold “Arnie” Wieweck.
