TINASHE
The TNA Trendsetter
How would you describe your day-to-
day personal style?
Moody. My style changes from one
day to the next. It really all depends
on what side of the bed I wake up on.
What are the three most-worn pieces
in your wardrobe?
An oversized T-shirt or crop sweater,
sweat pants and sneakers.
Does your fashion mirror your music
style — which has a lot of sass and
attitude — or do you play it safe with
fashion?
I guess the best way for me to descr-
ibe myself, and my personal style is
that I don’t like to be generalized and
put in one singular box. In music, I’m
not just one thing and the same can
be said for my sense of fashion.
How, if at all, does your style change
when you’re on stage?
It all about confidence when you
hit the stage. When you’re confident,
everything looks better. The crowd
helps, because they give you this one-
of-a-kind, amazing, energy.
You seem confident in both your music
and your fashion sense. But is there
any fashion advice that you would
offer to your younger self?
I never wore sneakers in my teens. I
would tell my younger self, to buy a
pair of J's (Jordans). The heels aren’t
fooling anyone.
You’ve been spotted in various pieces
from Vancouver based brand TNA do
you have a favourite look or item from
the line?
I love the entire athleisure-style vibe
to the collection. It really goes hand-
in-hand with my laid-back persona.
The best thing about both TNA and
Aritzia as a brand, is that it extends
past fashion and really becomes like
a lifestyle. When I’m in the clothes I
feel a certain way, and that feeling
doesn’t come around all that often.
Finally, what are you most excited
about when it comes to fall fashion?
Peacoats and knee-high boots.
