Design & built company CAPEXUS has moved to new offices capable of
accommodating their growth. In this playful space with its laid-back atmosphere they
can work from anywhere - individually or in teams, in the company of others, but
also without being disturbed. Last year, CAPEXUS hired 50th co-worker in the Czech
branch alone, and their growth has not stopped since then. While the building already
housed offices, they consisted of old-fashioned cubicles and narrow corridors that
of areas for relaxation and conference rooms. ‘We wanted to transform the interior
were practically begging to be converted into a radical open space concept with plenty
from an old dump into a modern work environment that would represent the trends
that we promote, but that would also be a showroom for our work and our suppliers’
products,’ said the architect, Tereza Bradová, who designed the office. When it comes
to designing workspaces, CAPEXUS is a big believer in wide variability. Sometimes
the seating areas are ideal for individual tasks requiring maximum concentration,
and at other times for working in teams. The architect therefore designed an open
conference room, for example, which is internally call the ‘coupé’ and is great for
quick meetings when the company representatives don’t want to reserve a conference
room. CAPEXUS offices also serve as a showroom for the suppliers whose products
the company use most often in orders for their clients. ‘Like we’ve just come home’ -
that’s the kind of office they wanted. Tereza, the architect, therefore chose to include
elements that make the office space cosier.

디자인 및 건축 회사 카펙서스는 성장한 사세를 수용할 수 있는 새 오피스로 이전했다. 직원은 이
편안한 분위기의 창의적 공간에서 개인 혹는 단체로, 동료와 함께 있으면서도 방해 받는 일 없이
아무 곳에서나 업무를 볼 수 있다. 작년 카펙서스는 체코 지사에만 50명째 직원을 고용했고, 그
이후로도 이들의 성장은 계속됐다. 기존 건물에는 이미 여러 사무실이 들어서 있었지만 그들 모두
유행이 지난 칸막이 사무실과 좁은 복도로 구성되어, 수많은 휴식 공간과 회의실을 갖춘 혁신적
개방형 공간으로의 전환이 요구됐다. ‘우리는 오래된 지저분한 기존 공간을 우리가 추구하는 최신
가치를 대변하고, 우리 작품과 협력사의 제품을 전시할 수 있는 현대적 업무 공간으로 재단장
하고자 했다’
고 디자인을 맡은 건축가 테레자 바르도바는 말한다. 업무 공간 설계에 있어
카펙서스는 폭넓은 가변성을 추구한다. 때에 따라 공간은 고도의 집중을 요하는 개인 업무에
이상적이거나 어떤 때는 협업에 적합하다. 이에 건축가는 직원이 ‘승합마차의 객석’
이라 부르는
공간이며, 대표가 회의실 이용을 원하지 않을 때 짧은 회의를 진행하기에 안성맞춤인 개방형
회의실을 설계했다. 카펙서스 오피스는 의뢰인을 위해 자주 주문하는 제품의 공급 업체를 위한
전시장 역할도 한다. 카펙서스가 원한 것은 ‘마치 집에 온 것 같은’ 느낌의 사무실이었다. 이에
건축가는 공간에 안락함을 더해주는 요소를 적용했다.
