Thus, the building becomes an environmental informa- tion tool. Specifically, we aimed at reducing heat losses during winter, as well as summer heat gain in the following ways: • A compact rectangular shape reduces the exposure to outside temperatures. Thus, winter heat losses and summer heat losses are reduced. • The construction of a compact housing with a high thermal mass, results in increased heat capacity and thermal insulation capacity of the building. • The adoption of a double outer shell in the building, with externally ventilated façade of corten sheets, contributes significantly to the cooling of the building’s second (waterproof) housing.
