Privacy, as well as shading was achieved, by carefully selected planting, which was taken care of
by a gardener. Trees and bushes were chosen, according to their ability of adaptation to the prevailing
conditions of survival and growth, such as the type of the soil, the quantity and quality
of the irrigation water available etc.
The choice of hard surfaces, such as deck floors and in-situ cast concrete, was based on their durability,
in order to reduce the need for maintenance.
