The beautifully landscaped gardens have been extended as has the water feature to create a scenic lake and a flowing stream onto which a number of the ground floor apartments front. The fourth block in the resort, Palme d’Or, which takes the splendour of Oasis to new heights, is now under construction and, 10 months before completion, 38 of the 50 units having already been sold for a total of R168 million. Named after the highest prize awarded at the Cannes Film Festival, Palme d’Or will also be unashamedly upmarket. The luxury apartments will range in size from 75m2 to 162m2 and will boast quality finishes, covered terraces and air conditioning. Most of the apartments will have utility rooms and all one bedroom apartments will have studies. Also 11 storeys, Palme d’Or will be served by two lifts and a 24 hour dedicated concierge service. Construction is currently at level 10 and is expect to top out by end of October with completion scheduled for end June 2016. Owen Futeran of the developers, the Oasis Joint Venture which comprises the Rabie Property Group and a Harries Projects consortium, said a number of new sales were close to finalisation. “This is very unusual for a retirement product. In fact, a few years back, only 7 units were sold in a 12 month period and the first block was only sold out long after construction was completed, once buyers could see what they were getting. “Since then, the tempo of sales has picked up considerably with all 232 apartments in the first three phases sold out and 72% of the units in block four having been sold 10 months ahead of completion which is a rarity in this market,” he said. He said there were many factors driving sales at Oasis not least of which was that buyers could see the high calibre of the development they were buying into and that all the amenities such as clubhouse and leisure facilities and care centre were already there and not based on future forecasts or promises.
