Grant Thornton Audits Belgotex
Floors for Own Purposes
Tax consultants and accounting specialists,
Grant Thornton, recently audited the merits of
Belgotex floors’ for their new headquarters
A
ccustomed to advising clients
on management best practice,
the company subjected Belgotex
Floors to the same rigorous scrutiny for the
specification of their own flooring.
Three different product ranges– namely
Nottingham luxury vinyl tiles, Equinox tufted
and Metro needlepunch carpet tiles were
specified by Giant Leap.
All three ranges have proven performance
histories, but the bottom line was that
Belgotex Floors’ product innovations and
superior environmental ratings ultimately
led to their selection.
Nottingham
The wood-look beauty and convenience of
Nottingham with patented TacBac®, a waterresistant pressure-adhesive luxury vinyl tile
made from virgin PVC, was selected for the
lobby and landings and several open plan
areas. Nottingham is a third generation vinyl
plank with a pressure-sensitive adhesive
backing called TacBac® that is unrestricted
by unilin locking mechanisms and can be
installed in any direction to form patterns
or designs.
Their virgin PVC (PolyVinyl Chloride)
composition ensures planks are waterresistant and easy to clean, without the
environmental hazards or impurities of
inferior vinyls, while the 0.55mm wear-layer
(10% more than standard ranges) protects
against scuffs and scratches. The patented
TacBac® bonds to any clean smooth surface
without adhesives and is made with nylon
fibre that absorbs moisture so maintains its
tackiness and offers up to 80% more stability
due to less expansion and contraction.
Equinox
Stainproof Equinox tufted carpet tiles were
used on stairways and pause areas to buffer
sound and exude luxurious comfort, while
interchangeable, needlepunch Metro carpet
tiles were used in offices and meeting
rooms.
Both carpet ranges are made from
stainproof yarn for ease of maintenance
and are certified with low VOC levels,
contributing to improved indoor air quality
and meeting all the requirements for the
Green Building Council of South Africa strict
IEQ13 criteria.
