plaster and paint and the Carrara white marble tiles up to a timber dado were employed to demarcate the different zones . At 15m intervals a ‘ mast-like ’ column is used to introduce playful theatre into the malls . All edges are protected by stainless steel trim . The Mall logo brands the mall on the demarcating columns . Shopfronts were intentionally placed flush with the demising columns to create a “ smooth ” surface .
The bulkhead element was exploited to theme the mall . Distinct stylised maritime forms were used . Wave shapes out of plaster act as a continuation of neutral zones and are contrasted with boat hull forms , complete with gunwale hardwood edging . Blade forms with metal trim appear like giant vents . Subtle colour change enhances everything . The clerestory above the bulkheads features stylised warehouse
