Baywest Mall is a 90,000m ² super regional mall situated on the urban edge of Port Elizabeth . The largest retail development in the Eastern Cape with over 250 shops over two levels , Baywest Mall was the catalyst for the Baywest City precinct development and the expansion of the city of Port Elizabeth , and at the time of its inception , provided a much-needed economic boost to the area .

Design Concept The success of the double-level regional mall design lies in the simplicity of its plan – a crossed ring with retail anchors in each corner . A typical cross mall shape , featuring a large food and fashion court in the centre of the shopping hub with a secondary ‘ ring-mall ’ linking the anchor tenants , which are situated on the four corners of the building , it has entrances at each quadrant with an inter-connecting parking podium on the perimeter . The mall has a soft curve , so you can virtually see around the corner . It is also a tight racetrack , so it does not feel like you are walking for kilometres and kilometres .
The mall ’ s promotions and food court area at its centre is linked to the Fun Factory entertainment area at the Boulevard entrance , with state-of-the-art cinemas , games and bowling , ice rink and restaurants . The clearly defined vehicular and pedestrian entrances are on axis with the parking zones conveniently situated close to entrances allowing for fast direct access , with the emphasis on the arrival experience . The parking cells are also inter-connected for ease of access to any entrance .
