Ground Floor Where the ground floor punches through to the first floor slab , we had to deal with a very different lighting scenario . Here , we only had a narrow bulkhead along the sides of the mall into which we needed to install fittings , which were sufficient to light the entire width of the mall . The solution was to use internally adjustable downlighters along the side of the mall , which were directed in to the centre of the mall .
First Floor The first floor ceilings are totally different to the ground floor and are a combination of layers , curves , skylights and slots . The lower section of the first floor has a bulkhead similar to the ground floor and was therefore lit by a combination of internally adjustable downlighters and cove lighting . The main mall ceiling then rises from above this bulkhead into the high level curved ceiling structure .
GROUND FLOOR
The new mall design breaks away from the traditional spatial model of shopping centres as enclosed and internal .
