The Zone @ Rosebank is an extension , although on a separate site , of the original Zone development in Rosebank , which was completed during the late 90 ’ s . This latest project is a mixed-use development comprising a hotel , 2 levels of retail , loft offices and basement parking .
Development Philosophy The Rosebank Precinct is a high energy Urban Town Centre offering a diverse experience for its cosmopolitan market , creating a distinctive offering for the core target markets . It is an urban eclectic environment , encouraging individuals to create their own style and , at the same time , add to the already multi-cultural atmosphere through the way they dress and interact with the people and the environment . This latest addition thus builds on the authenticity of the current context of the Zone Development , as well as responding to the rising competition in the form of the new Urban Town Centre Developments and some of the existing Town Centre Developments in Melrose and Sandton .
In shaping this new Urban Town Centre , Old Mutual Properties worked effectively with the other landowners to create a seamless retail environment within the precinct . It was also important to integrate the ( then ) proposed Gautrain rail development with the project and the precinct as a whole .
